Six Small Businesses You Should Know: Episode One--Artist Gather
Welcome to the first of six episodes where Sara Scraps and I are going to be sharing Six Small Businesses That You Should Know! We are super excited to be showcasing a new small business on the 1st, 10th, and 20th, of the month for the next few months. The best news is that we are going to be giving away an amazing prize pack at end of the six episodes full of goodies from all six companies. Please know that we are not in any way, shape, or form affiliated by or paid for content by these companies! We just really love them and think that you will too!!
Our first company today is called Artist Gather and is run by a lovely and sweet scrappy friend, Sarah. She is party of a military family and a mama to beautiful kids and we got the opportunity to spend some time with her at Creativation. We immediately fell in love with her classic style and intentional stamp designs. We were especially taken with her fun retro sets of alphabet, months, years, and number stamps that all fit together perfectly to create unique elements. She also carries some other gorgeous stamp sets as well as traveler’s notebook inserts, washi tape, and some amazing pocket envelopes that I can’t wait to try! Sarah is just the sweetest thing and you are definitely going to want to check out her store. You can find Artist Gather goodies and inspiration at these locations:

Today, I started working in a new traveler’s notebook insert for a trip that we took last summer to Boston. I am going to be working on this project throughout this entire series and bringing in products from each of our companies. These stamps are just perfect for layouts with a travel theme and because I am a travel fanatic, these are just perfect for me to have in my stash because I know that they will get used often.
For the cover of this notebook, I wanted to keep things simple and capitalize on the classic (and retro) feel of the stamp sets. I love how all of the different stamp sets are designed completely intentionally to fit together perfectly. I layered up the BOS, June, and 2017 in order to create a simple look with a high impact on the plain cover of this notebook.
Inside, I wanted to create a bolder look using the same stamped detailing so I grabbed the alphabet stamps and used my Stamp Platform to make sure that I would get an even pattern and spacing as I used the quote “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.” I decided to make the word WANDER in a brighter color so that that would stand out since this is a travel project after all.
I finished the elements on this introduction page with some layered ephemera from the new Here + There collection from Crate Paper as well as some ephemera from the Heidi Swapp Hawthorne collection. Both of these collections have a travel vibe and coordinated well to create a unique look at the top of the page. Using two of the tags back to back allowed for the “destination” word to show from the front or the back. I added a couple bright enamel dots to match the ink color in WANDER and I was done! I would love it if you would also stop by and watch the process video for how I created this look with the gorgeous stamp sets and my Stamp Platform!
